Memorial Day

We were so lucky to get to stay on our friend's houseboat for Memorial Day weekend at Lake Berryessa. We stayed with another couple and their kids. It was a quick trip but we had a lot of fun. BBQ'n, swimming, boating, tubing, fishing, even a little relaxing.

We found this great cove that seemed to attract houseboats, we anchored there for the weekend.

Cooper is jumping in off the back of the boat and swimming all around. We aren't quite confident enough to let him go alone in the lake, so we keep him attached to a rope :)

Cameron caught a nice size trout. He did a great job reelin' it in.

The kids love tubing. This was the first time Cooper tubed without me. We went really slow at first and in no time he's yelling "faster, faster" . They could tube all day long! Cameron also got to tube a lot with the other kids that were there.

Asleep at the wheel! Yes, he fell asleep driving, he wasn't letting go of that wheel for nothing. Good thing he was on dad's lap. Well....all that fun makes you tired. It was a great weekend.

Prom

Billy went the Jr./Sr. Prom Saturday night. It was on the SF Bay. A couple of his friends came out to take pictures, then we drove him to pick up his date and go to another friend's house where 48 of them had rented a bus to drive them to San Francisco. The next time we hear from him, he is calling to tell us their bus is broken down near the Golden Gate Bridge. 48 promers stuck on the side of hwy 101 in record high heat with the boat leaving the pier in 45 minutes. Agghh. Well, the next I hear from him, he was in a cab with his date and another couple headed to the pier - yes, Billy who can barely make his way out of Sebastopol was in a cab in San Francisco- scary! Well they made it in time and had a great time eating and dancing. One of the mom's came down with her huge bus RV and drove as many of them home as would fit in the RV. None of those kids will forget that prom anytime soon.

Lookin' good Billy

Another great pose.

Billy & mom (I guess I should have dressed up)

Trevor, Billy & Brian (Trevor is 6'7" - geez)

Billy & Brian K. (Billy, Brian and Trevor have been friends since 1st grade)

Billy & Casey (her senior prom - I'm so glad they made the boat!)
Ahhh, isn't it sweet.

Bye Bye training wheels...

....hello 2 wheeler!! Cooper has been asking us for a while now to take his training wheels off his bike. We have such limited cement/flat ground to ride on at our house that we have been procrastinating. Finally this past weekend while we were camping, we did it. We had to run with him for about 2 minutes then he was off and riding. He made lap after lap around the campground, even standing up to glide. He looked like a pro. Like I told Eddie I guess there is something to be said about waiting till they are really ready, we didn't have to deal with any scraped knees or tears. Now there is no stopping him, he's riding all over the place. I'm sure I'll be posting some other pictures soon, we've been taking lots. In fact as I am typing this he is getting his gear on to go again.

Oh...and the little BMX bike Papa Frank bought him in MS is his trick bike. He's already working on wheelies...

Coolin' off

We had a good rain at the beginning of the week so we decided to get in one last ride before it gets to dusty and hot. We all good some good riding in, Cameron is starting to do the trails with us and Cooper is tearing it up around the track (scary to watch!!, but awesome). After riding we went to the creek and found some awesome swimming holes. Cameron and Dad were the brave ones to go all the way in. Cooper & I got our legs wet, and Billy stayed dry! It was so pretty and some added fun to our camping weekend :)

Spring Riding

We love this picture.

One cool thing about riding in the spring is watching the para-gliders come off the mountain. We
must have seen 25 or more. They land right next to where the kids ride. It's so cool to watch.

Cameron....looking pretty comfortable on that bike!

Bike Parade

In honor of the Apple Blossom parade, Cooper's preschool has an annual bike parade (it's much easier than trying to organize a bunch of 4 year olds at the Apple Blossom parade which is a huge event in our town). They all made a tie-dye t-shirt then brought their bikes or scooters and decorated them and made a few laps around the park.

Lined up and ready to go

Let the parade begin

Dad cheering him on as he rounds the corner (we were so glad he made it!)

And a much needed popsicle to cool him off after the long ride.

Beach Boardwalk

Cooper and I went first and took this pix. It was freaky having the kids so high up but they loved it.

Up, up and away

A great band played in the evening on the beach

The boys

We got to sneak away for a night over spring break and go to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. The kids loved walking on the boardwalk seeing all the action. Cameron's favorite - the bumper cars. Cooper's favorite - the kettlecorn and slurpees. I wish I had a picture of us on the roller coaster. We bought the one they snap of you as you are riding it...the kids faces were hilarious. Let's put it this way, we won't be riding any roller coasters any time soon.
