Day 5

Day 5 started out with great fun. Well, at least I thought so. I loaded us up and went and got a much needed manicure. Awww, it felt great. I had to get the boys McDonald's afterwards which I don't really like doing but in this case worth the fast food! Cameron & Cooper had their last swim lesson for the summer. They have both done great this year. Cooper has learned freestyle & Cameron continues to improve his strokes. I was getting all computer savvy & putting a video on here but for some reason it look like it loaded (which is farther than I got last time I tried it) but wouldn't play. I'd love to get it to work so you can see them swim, it's impressive!

Their certificates which also came with a homemade cookie that was worth every dime spent on the lessons..
Working with Cooper. I really like our teacher she works on rescue swimming as well. It's comforting to know they have been exposed to that with all the time we spend in the water. So we are headed into the weekend with no plans, we will have to see what kind of fun we can find.

Day 4 of 21

Day 4 was a quick trip to Lake Sonoma in Healdsburg on Thursday evening. We went to one of our favorite coves and played in the water for a bit. It was 20 degrees hotter @ the lake than at our house so it was a great way to spend the evening.
Roxy is really getting used to the water, had her first official swim this time as opposed to her normal just rushing to get back on the swim deck.
See, she made it to shore. Eddie & the boys went with her.
Playing in the water with the kids.
Floating on the pool saddles.
We are going to be exhausted at the end of this 21 days but we are loving every minute of it.

Day 3

We headed to the beach. Doran Beach @ Bodega Bay is such a great place to camp. It's also very convenient being only 15 minutes from our house. Eddie can still come into work each day and we can feel like we are worlds away on an amazing camping trip. We met a family that was here from New Mexico, it makes us realize how lucky we are to have such awesome destinations so close to home! We spent 2 nights out there, played on the beach, went on some great walks and bbq'd some great food.
The boys are ready to head out..
an evening walk on the beach
yum, dinner time. Eddie made some great chicken & talapia
time for some fun & games
looking for the sea lions we kept hearing. We spotted a couple in the water. Cameron found a huge seastar in the rocks.
Roxy loved the beach, the sound of the crashing waves made her a little nervous
the kids & Roxy ran & ran on the beach
So we are home now and on to the next adventure.

Day 2

We spent day 2 of our 21 days of summer fun playing with the boys cousin Caitlyn. Thinking back I can't believe it but I think it's been since my moms memorial that we have seen her. Jeez, that's bad! She came up for the day and the boys and her had a great time playing.

Our backyard tire swing
Checking out the water at Doran Beach, Bodega Bay
So cute
Time for a swim
And some lunch.
So glad she got to come play for a day. We have to do it more often! What will day 3 bring??? You'll have to wait and see :-)

21 days of summer fun

Ok...we officially have less time left of summer vacation than we have spent sick. There is something wrong with that! After 5 weeks of this household being sick we are all officially healthy...well Eddie might not agree with that, he is still recovering. So we have 21 days left and we've decided it's going to be 21 days of summer fun!
Let the fun begin...
Today I took the boys trout fishing. These photos are backwards but hey at least I got them on here. Here is Cooper showing off the catch. He had the big catch of the day with 13".

Proud of their catch!
We hated getting them off the hook. It was gross. Cameron & I decided we like catch and release. It was kind-of sad but we gave them to our friend who is grilling them tonight so it's the food chain.
Reeling it in
Patiently waiting for a bite.
So this was day 1 of our 21 days of fun. Keep checking back for more fun to come.

Lake Shasta

Between bouts of pneumonia we managed to get in a quick trip to Lake Shasta. We love that lake, it is so huge & beautiful - every year when we go we are quickly reminded why we love it so much. This is a view from the patio at the entrance to the Lake Shasta Caverns. We have never toured them before and have heard it's pretty amazing so we decided to check it out.
The 'boys' (well and our girl Roxy) making their way down to the boat.
Cooper wakeboarding for his first time. What a trooper!
Cameron at it again.
The boys tubing with Roxy. It was so funny. Everytime they would tube she would stand in the back of the boat and seem to want to join. We made a pitstop and she jumped on so we went for it. She loved it-well besides when we hit a big wake - she wasn't to sure about that. We got it on video but I can't get it to load on here. argh
Me & the boys checking out the bats in the caverns.
Inside the caverns. It was actually pretty amazing to think this place was discovered by chance in 1878. We saw a baby black bear when leaving the caverns. It was so cute - I couldn't get my camera out it time for a picture. Glad we were on the tour bus it was a little close for comfort.
So...about the pneumonia - you remember from a few posts back that Cameron had it. Well little did we know at the time but Cooper also came down with pneumonia. Poor little guy had it when he was back there wakeboarding. It has been one sick summer and we are sick of it. We have 30 days left till we are back at school and work I am praying for all healthy ones! We are ready for some fun!! Oh & why I had time today to do this post??.....I'm fighting off whatever they had that started all this. Come on immune system kick in!!!

Random Summer Fun

Clyde loves the water. The boys made him this diving board and loved having him chase the ball.
On our way running errands this morning we came across this hot air balloon that had just landed. We watched it deflate as we drove up. Awesome!
Roxy ready for soccer season to start.
Ready for some wheelin' too!
More ball fun with Clyde. I think he's been in that pool for about 10 hours the past 2 days.
We love summer!!
