It's a bird...

..it's a plane!
We went and checked out the airshow at the Sonoma County Airport last weekend. We happen to have pulled up just in time to see some great flying.

I love this last picture. I wish the plane was more visible but love the grapes in the shot. A beautiful day for flying.

It's Official

Well, it's official. The school year has begun. Cooper started 1st grade & Cameron 4th. Cooper got a new to our school teacher. He really seems to like her so far and has a few kids in his class from last year. Cameron got the teacher he was hoping for and loves her. (I'm pretty sure he is as tall as her). She is really athletic and loves to play with the kids on the playground, he likes that. Here they are heading out the door.
Eager to get there (check out the fog)
The annual bell photo (if you are a dedicated blog reader of ours you've seen this shot before ;-) )
Well, we survived our first week with me back to work, the kids back in school & since Monday 5 hours of soccer practice. Ugh....I'm tired.

The Final Days 17-21

Our final outing on our 21 days of summer fun was to Lake Natoma in Folsom. We found this little place last year when we were looking to be near my mom and still have some fun stuff to do to keep the kids busy. We stay at this great hotel on the Lake Natoma river. This photo is from our dinner the last night. You can see our hotel to the left of Cameron's head. Last year I posted some pictures of us bike riding over that bridge in the background.

The kids got to swim until 10pm. They had never swam at night like that before and thought it was the coolest thing.

I meant to post this last, this was on the drive home, we may not have worn the kids out but we sure wore Roxy out!

Cameron getting comfortable wakeboarding. He says he's ready to start crossing the wake. Cooper is a big hit when wakeboarding-he got some compliments from other boaters. He just looks so tiny back there.
Roxy & Eddie enjoying the ride
OK, we will take one of these houses. The houses along this lake are amazing-or is it disgusting, we weren't sure. But we sure wouldn't mind having one.

Well, we did wear Cooper out. This was after a very long bike ride down some dirt trails along the river. Cameron is already headed in the hotel ready for some more action.
I think we did a pretty good job at squeezing our entire summer into 21 days. We all had a lot of fun. Up early today getting organized, grocery shopping and getting motivated to get back into the grind. Hope you enjoyed our 21 Days of Summer Fun as much as we did. :-)

13-16

Days 13-16 we spent doing real life stuff. The girls are still here from Texas so Cameron & Cooper have been loving playing with them. They make up all sorts of great games and play outside for hours - they love it. We've had soccer practice, orthodontist appointments and some back to school shopping. With all that done we are ready to go play again. After all only 5 days left!
Oh but you know how I am with my posts & pictures so below are a few 'nature' shots.
Here is a little duck Cooper shared his sandwich with
These geese were so pretty - reminded us of the movie Fly Away Home
This was a view from dinner last night. A beautiful moon.
OK, I guess the next post will be the last of the 21 days of summer fun.

Day 6, 7 & 8

More Fun! Day 6 Cameron & Cooper spent playing with our neighbors granddaughters. They come out usually every summer from Texas and they love to play together. Grandma Sylvia came up to join in on the fun. They kept each other very busy.

While they were all playing Eddie & I snuck off tho the Sonoma County Fair to bet on some horse racing. Overall we lost $20 but had a great day together.
Day 7 we went swimming with the girls. They are used to that Texas weather so our 68 (it's been unusually cold here these past few weeks & foggy) wasn't cutting the mustard. We lasted for a bit, ate lunch then came home to play some more.
Day 8 - well it can't all be fun & games. We had to get some errands done. I think the boys & I had 10 or so stops to make. Somehow we managed to get everything done. We even stopped by Billy's bachelor pad and visited for a few minutes. It was my first time by his new place. I was so happy for him when I saw it, it's a great house he shares with 3 great friends. I'm just glad I'm not their neighbors!
OK....off for some more fun!
