First day of school

OK, I've got some catching up to do.
Here we are on the boys 1st day of school.  Cameron is in 5th grade this year.  That is the highest grade of the school and he is loving being the big guy on campus.  Cooper is in 2nd grade.  He is in a 2/3 combo class which will work out great for him.
I need to dig out the old bell pictures and compare their growing.  I will have to save that for another day.
We are ready for an exciting school year.  I promise to post some pictures from summer vacation.  We had a great time and can't wait to share with you.

A day at play

Where the heck have we been?
Funny how when I'm off work for the summer and have all this free time I can't seem to manage time for a blog post.  I've got some catching up to do!
We spent our last day of summer vacation (yep, our vacation is already over.  The boys started back yesterday & I started today) in San Francisco.  Our little trip was a last minuted idea and turned out to be a great day.
We got a late start but made a quick stop at this awesome picture spot. Went to lunch at this great sandwich shop we hadn't eaten at for years - "Pluto's" if any of you are familiar with it - yum!
Then we headed to the Academy of Science for an afternoon of exploring.  The place is pretty amazing.  They have a new earth quake exhibit.  You enter this "house" complete with wall hanging, china, fish tank & bookshelves and they simulate the 1989 (which Eddie & I clearly remember) and the 1906 earthquake. It was very cool and a great experience for the boys if they ever have to deal with one.

To bad the city was so foggy - still beautiful
Cool fish feeding & coral show
It was a great day in the city.  We hung out with Grandma Sylvia on the way home and had a nice dinner together.  It was a great way to spend our last day off.

Hanging out

The boys & I have been hanging out enjoying our time off.  It's amazing how busy we can stay I wonder how we ever have time for work & school.
Here's a couple of pictures of our latest adventures....
A great hike we took the other morning.  There were so many trails we didn't know where to begin.  Definitely going back to do this again soon!

A summer bridge we crossed on the hike.

After all that walking nothing felt better than a dip in the pool.  Billy even joined us - amazing!  Cameron & Cooper had a blast playing with him and showing off all their tricks.

We love summer vacation!

Lake Natoma Inn cont....

More fun to be had at the Lake Natoma Inn

Following are (way to many - had sooo many to choose from) pictures from our time in Sacramento.

This patio overlooks our hotel & entrance to the bike trails.  We had a nice dinner here.

Roxy waiting patiently while we raid the vending machines.

Cameron just up and ready to ride.

Cooper ready to tear it up.

Eddie just had to try this rope swing.  So much fun!  The kids thought it was cool.

The place we stay hosts tons of weddings (we have spied on a few in the past) - They were all set up for the weekend weddings so we took advantage of the nice picture sites.

Eddie and I did a mock wedding under the arbor later in the evening (after a few cocktails at dinner) bummer all the pictures were blurry because it was hilarious.

Back at the lake, Cameron & I rowing to shore to play with Cooper & Roxy.

Brotherly love @ dinner.

Love...

Messing around in town on our walk home from dinner.

It was hot there!!

A ride along Lake Natoma - such beautiful trails.
Can't wait for our next adventure!

Cousins & Sisters

We made our annual trip to the Lake Natoma Inn. (We stayed there a couple of summers ago so we could be close to my mom when she was ill - )  We just love the place.  It's got a great little pool, awesome bike trails, it's close to Lake Folsom, walking distance to old town Folsom with great shops & restaurants, and the best part - it's close to my sisters who I see not nearly often enough! We were able to spend time with Amy 2 nights for dinner, took my niece Caityln to the lake with us, swam with Ethan one afternoon and went to dinner with Becky and everyone 1 night.
Amy & I enjoying some yummy Margaritas
Caitlyn, Cameron & Cooper enjoying the lake
 Loving the tube ride
 Swimming with Ethan & Caitlyn
 Dinner with Becky & Amy
The kids - making sure their face are clean for the picture
 Messing with Cameron
Breakfast before our day on the lake
 Eddie-the human buoy
Ahh...relaxing in the hot tub - who cares if its 100 outside
Well, the trip was short but sweet.  It was great to the kids together and great to spend some time with my sisters!

Summer Olympics

Cooper has been so excited to learn to front flip off the diving board.  I kept telling him he'd have to wait until Eddie was with us to practice those kind of things.  He got his wish this past weekend and by the second time was landing them.  That was it...no going back now - front flips are the best!
Cameron is cheering him on as he goes for another.....

Eddie had to get out there and show him how it's done.  Check out that form!  It's a 10.

So forget the Olympics this summer we have our own games going on.

Happy Birthday you old man!

Happy Birthday Eddie....doesn't matter how old he gets, he will never catch up to me - lucky guy!  We celebrated his birthday at our local lake - Lake Sonoma in Healdsburg, CA.  We had a great relaxing day, ate some food, wake boarded (well Billy did we were to wimpy to get in the cold water), tubed and boated around the lake.
