Field Trip
watching the apples being washed
apples getting a bath
down the conveyor belt for sorting
bagging his apples
pumpkin time (the rain kept us from going in the patch but they brought a bunch on the grass to choose from)
yum, a snack of what else but apple bread and apple juice.
Coopers preschool went on a field trip to the Twin Hills Apple Ranch. We got to see how they pick, clean and sort apples. Some kids went into the big freezer where they store the apples, Cooper decided that was too cold for him. Cooper had fun on his field trip.

Vroom Vroom
Eddie was having his truck serviced so we had to kill about 45 min. Luckily for us Scandia was right next door so we got to take the boys on a go-cart ride. They loved it. I told Eddie Cooper and I gave him a run for his money...he wasn't so sure. They opened up a new place in town that the cars go 45mph. we can't wait to go one day when we have a sitter and see who can whip who around that track.
Waiting for them to clear a spin out....they think they are going to catch us.
We don't think so.....

Wow 10 Years!
Yesterday (10/16/09) was our 10 year wedding anniversary. Wow...we can't believe it's been 10 years. We were talking about all that has happened/changed in just 10 years. We had 2 beautiful kids, moved to Mississippi & back amongst so many other things. It's amazing what you can do in 10 years. Well we got a sitter and went out to dinner - just the 2 of us. Billy happened to be working last night so we had dinner at Hopmonk Tavern where he works. It's a cool tavern in Sebastopol that has an outdoor "beer garden" and plays live music every night. It was our first time seeing Billy in action at work. He looked like a pro...oh and he sent us our dessert...how sweet.
Us having a toast to the 10 years.
All these shots of Billy working. Yeah, he was getting annoyed with me taking pictures but come on I'm a proud mom.
The yummy dessert Billy sent us. Happy 10 Year Anniversary to us!

Run Melissa, Run
A friend of mine in Mississippi has a daughter with Rett Syndrome. It as a form of autism that is normally only in girls. October is Rett Syndrome awareness month and to honor their daughter Mary Claire and others with Retts, she is having a fund raiser called "Miles for Mary Claire" asking everyone she knows to get sponsors and do a walk/run to help raise money for the cause. I decided to do a 5k trail run in Napa Valley. It was the first time I have ever done anything like this and I was pretty nervous. Eddie & the boys came along to cheer me on. When we pulled up I wondered what I had gotten myself into.
All registered and waiting for my race. Of course I enjoyed all the hot air balloons that were up that day.
Headed out to the trail. The elevation was brutal. Good thing I didn't know that before I started, it would have scared me off.
Still smiling - I won't post the picture of me headed to the finish...I look pretty funny-well let's day determined.
Wow....I got 2nd place in my age bracket and 11th overall in the race with 60+ runners. Who knew I would actually be pretty good at this. :)
The boys were proud of me. Leading up to the race they kept asking me if I was going to win. I'd tell them "no" I just want to finish the race. The night before Cameron said he'd pay me $3 if I'd at least pass 1 person. Well, I think he owes me more than $3.
It was awesome running the race and it felt so good that I was doing it for such a good cause!

Run Cameron, Run
Cameron is on the bottom right
Cameron's school had a fundraiser to help pay for the classroom aides called the Walkathon/Jogathon. They get 1/2 hr to run as many laps as they can and have collected sponsors to pay them per lap. They play loud cool music while the kids run and they get lot's of food after they are done. The kids love it and it becomes competitive to see who gets the most laps. Cameron came in with a whopping 22 laps. GO Cameron!
