Lookout NBA
The boys spent last week at basketball camp. It was a first for the both of them and they loved it. They practiced drills, shooting, dribbling, passing & defense. Each day ended in a scrimmage. It was held at Analy (where Eddie went to high school) which made it extra special. Both of them are looking forward to playing this year. Like I said - lookout NBA Cooper's coming for you!

Fun in the su....no?! what? the rain!
Yes, rain!
We didn't let a little rain - well ok, hours of rain - stop us from having fun. The kids & I took Grandma Sylvia to Six Flags.
We watched the new summer show "Splashtastic" and it is just that. We got a little wet from the dolphins 'splashing' us and the rest of the show was 'fantastic'! It's a very small scale Cirque de Soleil style adding dolphins - pretty amazing.
I took a few pictures from this viewing window - some of them almost make my pictures look fake like you are looking at a poster - this one was such a cute shot. These little guys are fun to watch!Grandma Sylvia and the boys hanging with the Looney Tunes guys.
Cameron and I trying to stay dry waiting for our lunch.
Elephant ride! It was Sylvia & Cooper's first ride on an elephant. Cooper was surprised how much hair they had and how hard the hair was. Sylvia got her ab workout! They loved it!!
Grandma & Cooper waiting for lunch.
Checking out the penguins.
Another elephant ride picture. We also watched and elephant show. Cooper says "I can't believe how long they pee" (it was for quit a while!)
The shows are pretty entertaining and educational. We aren't big ride lovers but love to walk around and see all the animals & catch the shows.
It was such a fun day. Great memories being made.

Taxi
Some friends of ours - actually the daughter of some of our friends, who grew up living next door to us, got married in Hawaii a few weeks back and had a reception in town a couple of weekends ago. We got to get dressed up and go have some fun.
OK, well not to dressed up. It was really hot that day so nice shirts and shorts was as good as it got. It was in the redwoods with a country theme (the bride did a great job with the theme - she thought of everything. So ties and shorts it was
The parking lot was a bit of a walk from the reception area so they hired Cameron & Cooper to shuttle people. They were a hit. They drove people down to the reception area and at the end back up to their cars (that was an uphill hike) they gave them front door service. They even delivered ice - they got to drive right across the dance floor to do that which Cameron thought was pretty cool. Some people had them run them up to their cars to grab sweaters in the evening and someone even gave them their car keys to run up and grab some spare shoes.
This was their first drop off
Oh and one mom paid them to take her daughter for a ride. People loved it - heck we loved it- we were at a reception all day and our kids didn't complain once. I highly recommend having your kids run a shuttle service the next time you have to be at a boring grown-up party all day. They even got some tips thanks to some party goers who made them signs "we work for tips" complete with a tip cup. I'm sure the boys will never forget that wedding reception!

Patti
me visiting my mom's plaque at the Forestville Youth Park. Forestville is the town I grew up in. My aunt Paulette got this in her honor. Very touching! Just so happens I'm sitting on my cousins plaque he put for his business - very sweet she is right next to him.

Happy Birthday Eddie
Happy Birthday Eddie
Happy Birthday old man....oh wait, no matter how old he gets I still have him beat - damn it! We had a fun day, started with present opening. I can't tell you how many pillows I've got this man - poor guy, we never seem to get it right. The highlight gift is this car & ticket he is holding up. We got him 3 laps in a Lamborgini (thanks groupon!). Apparently it only lasts about a minute or so with the speed you go but he gets to drive and it's going to be a trill. Can't wait to go in August. WooHoo Eddie!
After gifts Eddie had to work - it was Friday after all - but we were able to head up to Lake Sonoma for a quick ride & swim in the afternoon. It was really HOT so it was a perfect day for it. On the way home we stopped by our favorite swimming pool for a dip and some dinner. HAPPY BIRTHDAY EDDIE. xo

No more crying here
Well, we didn't mope too long about school being over. The next day the boys and I went to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. We checked out their new show Cirque Dreams Splashtastic which was pretty impressive. Cooper made us sit in the front row so we even got splashed by the dolphins.
We ran into this guy right when we got there.
We did hit one ride - the river rapids. We got soaked!
Not sure why Cameron has the long face - he was looking forward to this bag of kettle corn all day and was stoked when we got it - actually I think he has a mouthful. In fact we still have a bunch of it sitting in the kitchen yum.
It was a great start to what we know will be a great summer!

Bye Bye Apple Blossom
Cameron is officially done with elementary school and a middle schooler now!
The end of the school year this year was bitter sweet. Cameron is done with Apple Blossom School and will start middle school - Twin Hills - in the fall. He had a performance "Songs Across America" which was adorable. They sang several songs and Cameron even did some square dancing. (I'm going to try to load the video but I'm never good at that so no promises). He's in the back row with the blue bandana. All the kids put hours of practice into the performance and it showed, they did a great job
After the singing we had hot dogs & pot-luck with all the kiddos and their families. It was great hanging out with all these kids we have known since they were in Kindergarten.
Cameron played some basketball with his friends.
A sweaty Cameron showing off his transfer certificate.
The last morning I dropped them off at school was strange. As we pulled in the parking lot I was like "well Cameron this is the last time I will ever drop you off at this school" sniff-sniff.
They got out early so Grandma Sylvia came and picked them up (daycare on the last day would be lame!) - She took some great pictures....
Here they are walking to the car.
the end
