Happy Thanksgiving

We hope you all had a great turkey day. We actually stayed home this year which is unusual for us. Grandma Sylvia & Billy came over and we cooked up a delicious Thanksgiving dinner. We had a nice relaxing day hanging around the house. The sun even popped out long enough to open the front door & enjoy the fall air.

It has worked out well that we are home this weekend, Cameron is spending his last day being 9 and looking forward to his 10th birthday tomorrow. Hmm, I wonder whats in store for him....we'll have to wait & see!

Camping at last

It seems like it's been forever since we've been anywhere. Finally over Veteran's weekend we were able to go camping. It rained the first day which made for perfect riding conditions the rest of the weekend. We ran into several friends and had a great time riding & wheeling! It was so great to relax & get away.

Now only 2 more days of school/work, then off for 5 days for Thanksgiving break & celebrating Cameron's birthday.

Keeping Busy

We've been keeping around here trying to get our little landscape area complete enough atleast not to be a mud pit for the winter. We've decided to plant in the spring because we feel if we try to do it now (before it gets to cold) we will be rushing and not make great decisions. Eddie worked to put all our drainage in to route the rain water away from the house which was a big chore so we feel good getting that done.
Cameron & Eddie took a break to help out our neighbors who were shoveling their rock by hand. Cameron got their driveway looking great in a matter of hours. What great neighbors we are :-)

Good thing Eddie wasn't home to see this. She's not supposed to be on the furniture but how cute ?!
One high priority project was to get our path leading from the driveway to the backyard done before the rainy weather. We got it shaped and the base rock done on Sunday. (Loved the extra hour from the time change)

It's so tempting to rush and get things planted. We have several steps to complete before we are at the planting stage so I know not rushing is a good choice. More to come....

Candy Time

We had a great time out trick-or-treating. We went to our usual location and the kids nabbed up some good candy. Billy even made it out to join in on the fun.

Cameron's birthday & Thanksgiving are just around the corner. Pretty soon we'll be singing Christmas carols! Happy Halloween everybody!

Harvest Time

Fall is here. Time to get ready for Halloween. We went to a great Fall Festival where we picked our pumpkins, made candles & did a hay maze.

Carving the creations
On our way to a carnival at the school. It was an amazing carnival, they went all out!
Cooper in class after his school parade.
Cameron after the parade. Out of costume, it was hot!
Time for some trick-or-treating!

Tree Trimming Time

What? Is it Christmas already? No, just trying to save our willow tree that's in front of our house. For some reason this year it just seemed to struggle. It's a huge beautiful tree and needs to be saved so Eddie & a friend rented a lift and them & the boys cleaned the thing up. It's a little freaky seeing your kids up so high but Cameron loved being up in the lift helping out.

Our new neighbors have wanted a tree cut down and hit them up to do the job while we had the lift. Here are Eddie & the boys heading over..
Cooper had to have a turn up high. Super freaky with him up there he's so little Eddie & I were scared he'd fall through
A nice ariel shot. We are about to do some landscaping on that dirt side....I'm sure you will be seeing pictures of that when it's done.
Cool front shot of the surroundings
I guess the only shots we don't have are a before & after of the tree. Hopefully it works and it will be looking beautiful again next Spring.

GOAL!

We survived the 2011 soccer season. In 5 days we had 7 soccer games & 2 soccer parties. Whew...that was a lot. It was also a lot of fun. The boys each had a game during the week and played in a tournament on the weekend to finish out the season. Cooper scored a goal in one of the tournament games and Cameron had several awesome plays.
Here is Cameron's (#11) team ready to play - love the hair
They have their "game faces" on!

Cooper #3 in action with the ball (of course I missed the goal shot)
Cameron #11 in action - his team nickname is the bulldozer.
Cooper with all his swag. I should have got the medal around his neck it's soccer balls & apples in honor of the Harvest Cup Tournament

Soccer is a lot at the beginning of the school year when we are trying to get back into the swing of things. But we are all gonna miss it....until next year.
